Seven-Gem Ship introduction

  July the 11th 2005 sees the world famous six hundredth anniversary in which Zheng He sailed west six hundred years ago. Therefore, planned by Chinese Culture Research Institute,proposed and  made  by  Zhongjin  Property  Science and Technology  Developments ( Group ) Company and Nanshan Culture Spreading Company,and supervised jointly by a large number of authoritative departments,Zheng He Seven-Gem Ship will be ceremoniously issued after the efforts by nation-level master craftsmen.

   To improve  the workmanship of  the seven-gem ship , an art - directing committee was set up consisting of the leaders of the Party and the state, famous scholars and experts . The chief advisors are Qiao Shi , the former standing committee member of  the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, and former Chairman of the National People's Congress, Xu Jialu, the former vice chairman of the National People's Congress , Zhang Siqing, the  former vice  chairman of  the Standing  Committee of  CPPCC  national Committee , and Ren Jiyu , Curator of State Library and  master in Chinese national culture ; the directors of the art directing  committee are Zhang Wenbin,the former chief of State Cultural Relics Bureau and vice president of Chinese Culture Research Institute, and Liu Zhongde,the former minister of the Ministry of Culture.
   Zheng He Seven-Gem Ship will be issued only 3000 in number, after which will be out of print  both at home  and abroad . In order to guarantee the quality of  the material  for the  seven - gem  ship , the process  of the manufacture  has been  supervised  by  State  Center  for  Supervision and Inspection of Gold and Silver Production, and after being tested, the body of the ship is made  of pure silver  and cast gold  and the seven kinds of jewels inlaid  in the sections of the hull  are natural stones . Each ship model has been numbered, supervised and inspected separately and notorized by state Notarial Department. Six certificates  and appreciation album are provided for collection,manufacture-supervision,inspection and notarization and so on.

  Zheng He Seven-Gem Ship was made by first-rate experts of many subjects, which completed the design goal of "handing on, innovation and classics" .    Zheng He Seven-Gem Ship  was designed  on the basis  of the large-sized commanding ship  as the reversion model  and reduced  in the proportion of 628 times . The whole material is of pure silver and gold as well and some corresponding parts are set  with seven kinds of jewels such as diamonds , rubie , sapphires, agates , olivines, garnets , pearls, etc . The length , height  and  width  of the  ship are  as  follws : 20cm , 16cm, and  8.1cm respectively consisting of 218 parts,such as hull,cabin,sail and velamen , mast, anchor, helm, deck, thick  rope support, flag, halliard, gems, etc . There were nine masts and twelve sails in all , and the design of the fore was an animal's face and that of the stern was the ealge and the the sun ; ocean waves and aloy cast silver were adopted for the base,and the tops of the  ocean  waves  were  inlaid  with  natural  pearls  possessing  great originality and masterly workmanship.

   Zheng He Seven-Gem Ship  enjoys three  originalities such  as the first immitation ship model made of gold,silver and pearls, the first auspicious ship model  of seven gems and the first Zheng He ship model  of seven gems being  endowed with  great value  in three respects , such  as  sky - high innovative arts and crafts, folk culture, historical relics, etc.,which is classical curiosity of the national treasure.
